If you are not improving, if you have been the same handicap for a good while, or if you’ve gotten worse, have you stopped to ask yourself why? The reason this might be worth a look is this: first you are probably just blaming yourself for being a “bad” golfer OR you have gotten some bad advise. See… your swing was created by you, you own it. It got this way for a lot of reasons, of which physical limitations, is only one. The others are poor perception of what you need to do to improve and plane ole bad info. Like from your buddies, a magazine, TV, or even some well meaning “good golfer”. And here’s the problem with that. They never saw you swing. You need a lesson from someone who will tell you EXACTLY the problem and what YOU need to do to correct it. And I’m betting it AIN’T keep your head down slow your swing down, keep your left arm straight! “Don’t be too proud to take a lesson, I’m not”–Jack Nicklaus

Playing better Golf
If you’re not playing simply because you love golf, I seriously doubt if you’ll improve very much. Golf requires certain physical skills as well as a certain mental discipline. But mostly it requires, demands, passion for the game. If hitting golf balls and trying to learn better ways to do it is your idea of a fun afternoon, you will succeed at some level. If you are playing because your spouse does or the folks at the office do, well, thats fine. You just can’t ever expect to be very good. Even really talented players, when they lose the fascination for the pure enjoyment of it, they too soon fall from their peak performance.

Myths
Im here to tell you that many of the things you’ve heard about the golf swing and trying to learn it, are wrong. Not just misleading, simply wrong! DO NOT keep your head down; it ruins your posture. DO NOT keep your left arm straight on the backswing; it makes you too stiff. DO NOT slow your swing down, DO NOT practice unless you know what you’re working on, and above all DO NOT take a lesson BEFORE you play.
Posture up, relax left arm, swing aggressively , and ALWAYS take a lesson after your round! Good luck, DC
